Music Review (Telugu) : Gautamiputra Satakarni
Music Composer: CHirantan Bhatt
Ekimeeda folk soaked tune evocates the memory of Lagaan especially because of Udit Narayanan's vocals, however Chirantan Bhatt adorns the beautiful melody with splendid plucked string instruments throughout the song and the first interlude is a bliss. Shreya Goshal's ever-reliable pleasing vocals and Seetarama Sastry's native lyrics makes this one an enjoyable listen. Gana Gana Gana's thumping percussions and grand soundscape blend well with the movie's theme while Simha, Anand Baskar and Vamsi exude impressive energy throughout the song. The tune remains monotonous and strictly confines the song's of this sort, however composer embellishes the song with the neat arrangements in the interludes.
Mrignayana is an another lovely composition from Chirantan Bhatt where he brings together two prolific singers, S P Balasubrahmanyam and Shreya Goshal and the result is undeniably winsome one. However, the transition from the semi-classical arrangement to rousing strings in the charanam portions are abrupt while konnokol chants throughout the song are done brilliantly by an uncredited singer.VijayPrakash who delivered anthemic songs for Chirantan Bhatt in Kanche crooned Saaho Sarva in GautamiPutra Satakarni and the soundscape remains the same as the composer's previous movie, grand orchestration dominated by symphonic string sections. The tune and the invigorating chorus sections work easily as a situational song rather than as a standalone song. Singhamu Pai Langhinchenu is another magnificently mounted song in the soundtrack and the musical piece offers the fine combination of story reciting amidst the folk filled arrangements. Vijay Prakash effectually oozes out the diverse emotions with his vocals in this 5 minute long engaging musical attempt.
Verdict: Chirantan Bhatt delivered another rich musical after Kanche for Krish and the album is grand in tandem with the magnificent scale of the movie. The album gains highly from the proficient singers and impressive arrangement throughout the soundtrack.
My Rating:8.25/10
Pick of the Album: Ekimeeda, Mrignayana, Singhamu Pai Langhinchenu
