Music Review(Tamil): Balle Vellaiya Theva

Music Review(Tamil): Balle Vellaiya Theva
Music Composer: Darbuka Shiva

Aasa Theera Aadikalam sounds to be reminiscent of Kidaari soundtrack especially for its rhythmic percussion in the background, however, the tune is adequately foot tapping and enjoyable for its simple catchy chorus. Sathyaprakash sounds adequate and appears lively while KovaiSarala's verses appear outcast one in the overall soundscape.Bale Vellaiya Theva, though reminds of Kidaari's soundtrack for initial few minutes, Darbuka Siva's arrangements are splendid especially in the interludes with stunning guitar strums played in a classical manner and other trippy sounds makes this one enticing. Though the tune seems to be the rehash of the Kidaari's best song Thalakaalu Puriyalaye.

Kan Vachutta is the breezy melody with the bluesy guitar strums by Keba Jeremiah to back the folksy tune effectually. Haricharan and Sanjana Kalmanje easily scores with their pitch-perfect rendition. Darbuka Shiva throws in quirky Kazoo's solos intermittently throughout the track. In Balle Vellaiya Theva's club mix version, the digital sound dominates the vocals and the rock filled original version sounds much better. The brilliant bass line throughout the club mix track is the solo highlight of this version.

Verdict: Though the Kidaari's Deja-vu is predominant in this short album from Darbuka Shiva, the songs are adequately enjoyable.

My Rating: 7.5/10

Pick of the Album: Kan Vachutta, Bale Vellaiya Theva, Aasa Theera
