Music Review (Kannada): Bell Bottom

Music Review (Kannada): Bell Bottom
Music Composer: Ajaneesh Loknath

Yethake Bogasu Thumba has an uncanny Ajaneesh Loknath flavour and the folk-tinged tune is aced by Vijay Prakash while Ajannesh props up the song with the arrangement. Composer employed Bapuji's clarinet brilliantly throughout the song and the second interlude with the synth and Tabla mix is a stunner. Ajaneesh unveils another winner with the retro club song and akin to the period, composer churns out an enjoyable retro sounds throughout the song backed by Sangeetha Ravindranath's boombox vocals. Ajaneesh Loknath brings back obsessive soundscape to the folk track Aadhi Jyothi Banyo with ample support from Chennai Violins strings section and the reverberating chorus portions. Kadabagere Muniraju's rustic vocals blend perfectly with the song. Audio trailer features the dazzling mix of amusing dialogues and the thrilling background score which reminds us of the composer's Ulidavaru Kandante.

Verdict: Ajaneesh Loknath opens his 2019 account with the stunner soundtrack despite the album duration is under 15 minutes.

My Rating: 8/10

Pick of the Album: Yethake BogasuThumba, Aadhi Jyothi Banyo

Music Review (Kannada): Natasaarvabhowma

Music Review (Kannada): Natasaarvabhowma
Music Composer: Imman

The title track sounds more like Imman trying to give stiff competition to Telugu hero introduction numbers and the track is merely loud and jarring affair from Imman and equally the track is perfect for Puneeth Rajkumar fans especially Pavan Wadeyar lyrics. Open the bottle is tried and tested Imman tune propped up by Vijay Prakash's stupendous singing and also Imman's catchy hook helps the song. Yaaro Naanu is an enchanting tune with the sprawling Chennai Strings Orchestra's work blends smoothly amidst the Kaviraj' Mridangam and Balasubramaniam's Nadaswaram. Shreya Goshal undoubtedly aces the beautiful melody effortlessly. Tajaa Samachara also largely benefits from Chennai Strings Orchestra's brilliant arrangements while Imman's melody is complemented by 80's rhythm mix and neat job by the lead singers Jithin Raj and Vandana Srinivasan's respective versions. The theme instrumentals Paranormal action and Power Play are strictly functional ones playing to the gallery of a commercial movie.

Verdict: Imman's sophomore straight Kannada album is salvaged by two listenable melodies.

My Rating: 7/10

Pick of the Album: Yaaro Naanu ,Tajaa Samachara

Music Review (Kannada): Tagaru

Music Review (Kannada): Tagaru
Music Composer : Charan Raj

Tagaru banthu Tagaru's tune is monotonous but the music loop and Antony Daasan's vocal lifts the song from the pedestrian one. Charan Raj kept the upbeat mood of the song consistently despite the tune sounds like the direct import from Telugu mass films. Ananya Bhat shines in the folksy hold on song and the Charan Raj's rustic tune and the violin solos in the interludes make this one listenable song. Composer strikes again in another Ananya Bhat song Mental ho jawa and the synth-laden soundtrack has the groovy and instantly catchy tune.Raksha Achar and Meghna Bhat ably support with their vocals.

Verdict: After middling Dalapathi, Charan Raj back to his impressive form for another commercial high budget film Tagaru.

My Rating: 8/10

Pick of the Album: Hold on, Mental Ho Jawa

Music Review (Kannada): Dalapathi

Music Review (Kannada): Dalapathi
Music Composer: Charan Raj

Early morning starts off with the gibberish sounds and follows into typical Kannada high-octane song and it's very surprising that this song is composed by Charan Raj. The only highlight being the brief Nadhaswaram sound and the tune is easily cakewalk for Vijay Prakash. The soundtrack turns slightly better with Gunu Gunuva backed by lovely Nelson's violins in the background and Guitar strums. Sindhuri Vishal steals the show with her terse husky vocals towards the end. Wah Re Wah with its Islamic style music in the background is adequately engaging mainly due to splendid rendition by Vijay Prakash and the classical guitar in the interlude is the brilliant touch from the composer. Yaarige Beku Ee Preethi is a short track sounds like an almost continuous melancholy version of Wah Re Wah mainly due to rhythm structure. The affecting violin is the highlight of this short track. Ishq Dishq is an another average techno sounds laden track which is hardly interesting despite all the pretentious arrangements. The title song starts off well with the folk prelude but soon treads on the familiar path but able to clasp the listeners due to Ananya Bhat's vocals and energetic background.

Verdict: After inventive tracks in GBSM and Pushpaka Vimana, Charan settles down to commercial soundtrack with mixed results.

My Rating:7/10

Pick of the Album: Wah Re Wah, Gunu Gunuva

Music Review (Kannada): Happy New Year

Music Review (Kannada): Happy New Year
Music Composer: Raghu Dixit

Adda Bidde Madessa's buoyant rhythms and intricate violin solos come off as a winsome combination complementing the composer's vocals in a pitch-perfect manner. The tune is typical Raghu Dixit's one and also enjoyable throughout the song. Badhuke Neenantha Nataka benefits largely from the Kapil Nair's sincere rendition while Raghu Dixit's string-laden gloomy backgrounds sounds apt for the melancholy. Composer ends the track in a splendid manner transcending from classical touch to rock crescendo. Sa re Ga Ma Pa Da Ni's cheerful guitar laden soundscape gets a fantastic vocal support from Nakul Abhyankar while Raghu Dixit's backgrounds continue to be engaging throughout the song especially blissful second interlude. Kaurava's high energy kuthu and Master Vishwas's singing is the holding factor in an otherwise passable song. Preetiya Hesare Neenu's minimal guitar led arrangements is soothing in the vocals of Raghu Dixit. Raghu Dixit ends the soundtrack with mass friendly as well as mediocre party anthem which fails to excite the listeners.

Verdict: Raghu Dixit's sophomore feature album strikes the chord and the soundtrack is thoroughly enjoyable except for the couple of songs.

My Rating: 7.75/10

Pick of the Album: Badhuke Neenantha Nataka, Adda Bidd Madessa, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Da Ni

Music Review (Kannada): Urvi

Music Review (Kannada): Urvi
Music Composer: Manoj George

Manoj George churns out a winsome melody in Thili Prema with Charan Raj and Madhushree Narayanan behind the vocals and both the singers delivered pretty solid support to the tune. The violinist shows his prowess in the brilliant first interlude while Nikhil supports with the soothing flute in the second interlude accompanied by mild Tabla base. Madhushree Narayanan gets solo version of Thili Prema and the underlying melody works beautifully in this version also and the immersive tune is amply supported by Sandeep Mohan's guitar laden background. Manoj George delivered another knockout track in the album with Kanna Hanni and the melancholy is backed by Chitra's impeccable rendition while Manoj's violin solos is another undeniable star in the soundtrack. The charanam tune and the background violin is intricated beautifully and gives a musical high to the listeners. Adhara Madhura is a stupendous fusion effort from Manoj Geroge and the classical violin transitioning into quite a trippy sound is done in a stupendous manner. Teenu Treasa's punchy vocals elevate the dark grungy tune of the song and Manoj's lovely attempt at Chenda and violin fusion works seamlessly. Kelu Ranga Kelu is a fun track based on the Yakshagana and the buoyant tune is backed by lovely Harmonium throughout the track and the lively vocals make this one enjoyable listen. Urvi Theme sounds more like an extension of Adhara Madhura and the short theme track carries the grungy mood with the exquisite strings and rock flavored backdrop.

Verdict: Manoj George who was the choral arranger for Ricky Kej's Winds of Samsara delivers the highly enjoyable album in Kannada after 9 years.

My Rating: 8.5/10

Pick of the Album: Kanna Hanni, Thili Prema, Adhara Madhura

Music Review (Kannada): Kirik Party

Music Review (Kannada): Kirik Party
Music Composer: Ajaneesh Loknath

Thirboki Jeevana's highlight is buoyant brass sections and hummable whistle while composer aces the singing part and Ajaneesh Loknath's keys and violins in the background complements well the quirkiness of the song. Apart from dhamdhare hook, Katheyondu Helide has little catchy factor tune wise, however the lyrics evokes nostalgic college days and Ajaneesh's arrangements especially interludes work to the song's favour. In Neenire SanihaShreya Goshal rocks with her punchy vocals while Ajaneesh layered the song with immensely engaging interludes especially the first one with the tinge of classical shade to it. Belageddu rides mainly on the another proficient singer in the industry, Vijay Prakash and Ajaneesh backgrounds are adequately engaging till it lasts. Last Bench party, short functional kuthu with the right mix of quirky touches in Harmonium and lively singing accompanied by amusing lyrics. Hey How are you is the tribute to Hamsalekha and Ajaneesh brilliantly recreated the 90's music soundscape while BJ and Indu Nagraj aces the singing part effectually.

Verdict: Though not exquisite as Ulidavaru Kandante, Kirik Party's soundscape and lyrics is lovely nostalgic trip.

My Rating: 7/10

Pick of the Album: Neenire Saniha, Thirboki Jeevana, Hey how are you

Music Review (Kannada): Sundaranga Jaana

Music Review (Kannada): Sundaranga Jaana
Music Composer: Ajaneesh Loknath

Kalkondu bitte's breezy guitar laden prelude is followed by thumping high octane Haricharan in never heard vocal tone while Ajaneesh throws some enjoyable easily accesible sound cues. Overall simple melody comes off lively due to Haricharan's vocals and tidy synth dominated arrangements. Ee Santhelu Siguva rides on the mellifluous vocals of Shreya Goshal and she sounds splendid as always while the composer segues classical cues in the interludes stands apart in this enjoyable melody. The underlying string sections in the background complements the song particularly well. Santosh Venky delivers adequate support to the female singer. Fly Fly's familiar Jazz/ Rock and roll tune aside, Shashank Seshagiri and Lavanya's buoyant vocals make this peppy song easily accessible. The composer's jubilant usage of horn is an undeniable highlight. Particularly loved the sound cues toward the end of the song. Nandana sounds bland and although the song rides on the catchy factor in the tune, Vijay Prakash aces the typical tune particularly well. Jilka fame Indhu Nagaraj's processed vocals is bit turn off, however the improvisations within the confined soundscape is the likeable one from the singer.

Verdict:  Short functional soundtrack with lilting melodies from one of the promising composer in Kannada industry

My Rating: 7.5/10

Music Review (Kannada): Pushpaka Vimana

Music Review (Kannada): Pushpaka Vimana
Music Composer: Charan Raj

Jilka Jilka is an absolute euphonious treat where Charan Raj's enticing classical fusion works fabulously in the mesmerising vocals of Indu Nagaraj. Composer brilliantly layered the soothing flute and the thoroughly endearing percussion elements throughout the track. Charanraj's lullaby melody works like the charm in Jogulave where the composer's minimalistic orchestration supported by grand piano and strings in the interlude complements the serene melody which is handled behind the mic by the composer itself effortlessly. Haricharan is the star of the another totally engrossing melody Mugilu Belmugilu and the singer is top-notch with his classical nuances. Charan Raj throws few lovely elements like classical violin solos in the interludes and the orchestral extravaganza is evident in the second interlude's melange of sounds. Charan Raj extends this wonderful melody and delivered the Pushpaka Vimana Theme which is an equally engrossing composition. Baana Thoredhu Neeli is once again a stunning Hindustani melody delivered stupendously with enriching finesse in the vocals by Siddhartha Belmannu while Charan Raj's arrangements are brilliant dominated by Sitar, Tabla and flute combination. Charan Raj ends the soundtrack with the short track Ee Srushtiya sung by Ganesh Kranth and the highlight is undeniably the reverberating usage of flute throughout this two-minute track.

Verdict: CharanRaj delivers another fine soundtrack after Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu.

My Rating: 8.5/10

Pick of the Album: All tracks.

Music Review (Kannada): Mungaru Male 2

Music Review (Kannada): Mungaru Male 2
Music Composer: Arjun Janya

Gamanisu is an incredibly pleasant melody topped with ear-worming guitar strums and Sonu Nigam's impeccable rendition while Arjun Janya adorned the melody with brief Mano thang's sarangi intermittently and string sections. Arjun Janya followed the same template as in prequel soundtrack, Shreya Goshal crooning the Gamanisu's female version Kanasalu and the song is enchanting as original. Thanks to the tune and Shreya's mesmerising vocals.

Arjun Janya roped in another Bollywood singer Armaan Malik to croon the immersive melody Sariyaagi where once again dreamy arrangements featuring guitars, Chennai Orchestra's string sections, whistles makes this one engaging till it lasts. Armaan Malik featured in another gorgeous number Neenu Irade dominated with synthesized pop beats and melody flows seamlessly without hurdle. Anuradha Bhat and chorus vocals ably support the easily accessible melody and loved the way nadhaswaram bits and slide guitar is used in the interludes. Onte song's tune is a pedestrian one catering to the mass audiences of the soundtrack, however Arjun done a well job with respect to orchestration in throwing out some fabulous usage of guitars and violin. My daddy is another mediocre tune and Benny Dayal's vocals and kamalakar's flute make it listenable to certain extent. Trap song and Mashup fails to make an impact after the string of lovely melodies.

Verdict: Arjun Janya delivered highly rich melodies for Mungaru Male's sequel and made the soundtrack memorable as Mano Murthy's Mungaru Male.

My Rating: 8/10

Pick of the Album: Gamanisu, Kanasalu, Sariyaagi, Neenu Irade

Music Review (Kannada): Kotigobba 2

Music Review (Kannada): Kotigobba 2
Music Composer: Imman D

Kotigobba's title track is the mishmash of heard before rhythms with mid-eastern tinge in the interludes while Imman continues to pack the song with punchy percussion elements and Vijay Prakash effortless rendition keeps the song listenable till it lasts. Saaluthillave is the typical Ilayaraja'esque melody which Imman aces like a pro in his umpteen Tamil albums and in his Kannada debut also, Imman nails it with fantastic support from Shreya Goshal and Vijay Prakash. Imman spruces up the interludes with his brilliant string sections and jubilant Kazoos solos. Hunna Hunna is a tedious listen except for the beautiful nadhaswaram solo in the second interlude while Jithin Raj and Shashaa Tripati's vocals alone unable to salvage this mediocre tune. Parapancha Neene's start has an uncanny resemblance with Oru Kootu Kiliyaga, however Shankar Mahadevan along with Imman's ambient arrangements make this melancholy piece works to certain extent. Imman ends the soundtrack on a high with Jazzy piece Hello mister and although there is nothing extraordinary to offer both in terms of orchestration and tune, Neeti Mohan's wonderful lively rendition makes this one fantastic listen in the album.

Verdict: Imman's Kannada debut is a minimum guarantee one filled with the composer's familiar soundscape and superlative singers across the album make this one enjoyable partially.

My rating:7.5/10

Pick of the Album: Saaluthillave, Parapancha Neene, Hello Mister

Music Review (Kannada): Run Antony

Music Review (Kannada): Run Antony
Music Composer: Manikanth Kadri

Jhanak Jhanak is neat listen despite the limitations of Puneeth Rajkumar's singing, the song is quite an engaging listen with exciting brass sections especially trumpet solos in the first interlude. Kanna Kareyu, faux-qawwali tune embellished with brilliant veena solos in the interludes and rhythmic tabla base while Soham Chakraborty's rendition (Bengali singer, don't know how far he is perfect with Kannada diction) elevates the feel of the song. Ninna Danigagi by Manikanth Kadri is the all-time favourite of his composition and Supriya Lohith returns for the another tantalising track Marule from the composer. The tune is adequately lilting while composer spruces up with wonderful classical violin and veena cum flute combo in the interludes. Supriya along with Soham did a neat job behind the vocals especially humming by Supriya is the lovely touch from the composer. Manikanth Kadri is in fine form in Summane also and the enticing tune is backed by sweeping string sections, flute interludes and Javed Ali's fabulous vocals. Run Run Run comes off lively because of the Varijashree Venugopal's classical sargams and although the Soft rock-carnatic fusion is pretty much conventional sounding, the tune and the singers hold the listeners till the track lasts. Manikanth rounds off the soundtrack with Run Antony Yuva mashup which doesn't entice much interest and ends up being the unwarranted listen in the album.

Verdict: Manikanth Kadri continues to churn out highly listenable stuff in Kannada. Another brilliant set of songs from the composer after Savaari 2.

My rating: 7.5/10

Pick of the Album: Marule, Summane, Jhanak Jhanak

Music Review (Kannada): Sipaayi

Music Review (Kannada): Sipaayi
Music Composer: Ajaneesh Loknath

Muddu Pori sung by Ajaneesh Loknath works in parts especially title hook and interludes with the tinge of middle eastern touch and humming in the first and second interludes respectively. However as the song as whole, the instant catchy factor is missing. Nee Nadiyaagi, pleasant listen backed by wonderful violin and string sections throughout the song. Ajaneesh Loknath and Nanditha sails through this peppy melody wonderfully. Overall, easily accessible listen in the album. Nanna Kanasina rides on the mesmerising vocals of Chinmayi (though she sounds totally different) while Ajaneesh ups the ante with soothing arrangements with flute, string pieces and keys. Kannalle meetingu where Ajaneesh pitches his Andhra styled kuthu which fails to elevate from the mediocrity level even Shashank and CR Bobby's energetic vocals unable to salvage this pedestrian tune. Yaara Haneyali, hardrock tune with gloomy vibe attached to it which is evident by the flute piece and Udith Haritas grungy vocals.

Verdict: Ajaneesh continues to be promising composer to look out for in the Kannada music industry. Though Sipaayi is few notches below the composer's previous outing Ishtakamya, composer shines with engaging set of songs.

My rating:7.5/10

Pick of the Album: Nanna Kanasina, Yaara Haneyali, Nee Nadiyaagi

Music Review (Kannada) : Ishtakamya

Music Review (Kannada) : Ishtakamya
Music Composer: Ajaneesh Loknath

Nee Nangoskara, dulcet melody with ear-pleasing arrangements dominated by guitar and strings especially loved the guitar riffs in the first interlude. Shreya Goshal and composer itself croons the song in a brilliant manner while Shreya Goshal's captivates with Dum Dum hook, enticing touch by the composer. In Song's female version, composer kept arrangements and the tune intact while Shreya is fabulous with her rendition as always. Naa Ninage rides mainly on the impeccable arresting rendition by Chintan while Ajaneesh's string section rules the background throughout the song. Naa Ninage's another version sung by Mukthiyar falls a tad behind when compared to Chintan's version. Thangali's pleasant melody is elevated by Shreya Goshal's sweet rendition while Ajaneesh's neat orchestration with flute, tabla and Sax works wonderfully to the song's favour. Overall another fabulous melody from the composer. Payanadalli is another wonderfully composed song in the soundtrack where composer's alluring string portions in the background throughout the song is bolstered by Vijay Prakash's flawless vocals as expected. Chintheavadu, short track with sing along'ish tune, however Nagathalli's vocals didn't work much.

Verdict: After techno-laden Akira, Ajaneesh delivers fluffy easily accessible enjoyable melodies for Ishtakamya.

My rating: 8/10

Pick of the Album: Nee Nangoskara, Thangali, Payanadalli

Music Review(Kannada): Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu

Music Review(Kannada): Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu
Music Composer: Charan Raj

Naa E Sanjage, wonderful laid back jazz song rendered fabulously by Siddhanth and the Charan Raj's arrangements is mindblowing, an inventive jazz fusion of Raman Iyer's wind instrument with Sitar and Tabla. Especially Loved the harmonious piece between wind instrument and Sitar. Sharanya Gopinath, another fabulous singer brings out the charm with her vocals and the effect remains intact as in the male version. Job Kurian. the brilliant singer who I wish should sing and compose lot more delivered with ease in the techno-laden track Komala Henne and the addictive charanam portions. Deepak Paramashivan's sarangi is another icing on the cake to the fabulous lead singer rendition. The Malayalam feel in the song is inevitable due to the singer's vocals which one mostly associated with Malayalam songs. The soundtrack turns much better in the another great melody Ranga Bhoomia where Sandeep Vasishta's flute throws us back into yesteryear melodies. Nelson Kumar's string arrangements, Deepak Paramashivan's Veena adequately support this pleasant song. Haricharan seems to be getting awesome compositions in all south Indian languages back to back and the singer aces this also in his own style. Katheyondu Shuruvaide's highlight is the stellar violin solos by Aneesh Violin Vidyashankar and Balesh's Shehnai. Arun Kamath and Sparsha BK sounds apt in this enticing duet complementing the fabulous arrangements with the sargams in the midway and towards the end.

Ayo Maaya is another intriguingly arranged soundtrack and particularly loved the eerie Inchara Rao's rendition along with the background sounds. The song has some fabulous mixing in the arrangements with brass instruments and guitar. Charan Raj brought Masala Coffee fame Sooraj Santosh on board to deliver the classically oriented song Aley Moodathe and the singer aces the tune with his nuanced rendition. Once again Charan Raj's arrangements are top notch with Prakash Hegde's flute stealing the show. Sooraj's rendition and the serene arrangements make this one blissful listen in the soundtrack. Gasi Gumma is the kickass song in the soundtrack and the song is awesomest in an every aspect from coarse vocals of Charanraj or sinister touch to the tune as well as arrangements. Particularly loved the way the transition happens from Praveen Mathias's Guitar to Narendra H N's Veena. Mouna Mouna is the only weak link in an otherwise wonderful album and strictly because of the more awesomeness in the remaining tracks make this one little enjoyable.

Verdict: Absolutely mindblowing, experimental mainstream soundtrack released this year. Charan Raj delivered eclectic soundtrack in Kannada and the beauty of the soundtrack lies in the way the composer incorporated both western and Indian instruments in almost all the songs. Godhi Banna Sadharna Mykattu is undeniably the best soundtrack released this year so far.

My rating: 9/10

Pick of the Album: Just listen to the whole album. You won't regret it.

P.S. Best albums in Kannada (at least from the time I started following Kannada music) has Rakshith Shetty in the crew. Ulidavaru Kandante and now GBSM.

Music Review (Kannada): Akira

Music Review (Kannada): Akira
Music Composer: Ajaneesh Loknath

Hey Huduguru yella borders on the Ajaneesh Loknath's Gatiya Illidu from Ulidavaru Kandante, However, composer's vocals and sweeping euphonious string sections accompanied by percussion base make this song enjoyable till it lasts. Composer did a fine job behind the mic also. Kanna Sannayindele's techno sound starts off well but the tune wanders in the mid-way and turns out to be an average song in the album. However surprisingly Puneeth Rajkumar sounds fabulous compared to his earlier songs and fantastic hook makes this one listenable till it lasts. Nam Arealiondina rides mainly on the VijayPrakash's effectual rendition and the pedestrian tune didn't elevate the level of the song. Ajaneesh's arrangements also tread on the strictly functional level only. Ajaneesh delivers full-fledged raucous kuthu in Godu Godu Bandhavne Nodu with adequate support and energy from Naveen Sajju. Although the tune of this kuthu rides on the familiar soundscape, foot tapping rhythm makes this passable listen till it lasts. Yethakond Hogu Ma another techno sound laden track comes off lively only on the vocals of Vijay Prakash and husky CR Bobby's vocals. Akira's title track too has nothing extraordinary to offer, simple technon laden soundtrack which falls flat without making any impact and need visuals to prod this song.Ajaneesh scores in the final track of the album Aliside Usiragide where composer's stupendous use of violin and mild intermittent tabla base works in its favour. Vijay Raghavendra's lends his support really well with his vocals.

Verdict: Ajaneesh Loknath's full-fledged commercial entertainer album works partially and lags behind the eclectic diverse score in Ulidavaru Kandante.

My rating: 7.25/10

Pick of the Album: Hey Huduguru yella, Kanna Sannayindele, Aliside Usiragide

Music Review (Kannada): Devara Nadalli

Music Review (Kannada): Devara Nadalli
Music Composer: Hamsalekha

Allallalle Arrarrare is a pleasant composition from veteran Hamsalekha and for unknown reasons the rhythm evokes memories of similar composition from Malayalam songs. Chintan Vikas sounds fabulous in this lovely lilting composition filled with soothing flutes and sweeping string sections. Alleuaiah is a typical Christian choir song sung by Sneha and it's the least impressive song in the soundtrack. Antha Cheluveyena carries the coastal Karnataka traditional sound effectually while Prasad Cherkadi's rustic vocals brought out the flavour of the song very well. Hamsalekha shines in the arrangements front with quite an enticing chendamelam beats throughout the song and the song's final one and half minute arrangements with flute is a lovely touch from the composer although it's discordant with the initial portion. The title song's punchy percussion laden arrangements and vocals by Chintan Vikas is quite arousing. Particularly loved the winsome as well as haunting string portions throughout the song.

Verdict: Devara Nadalli is a thoroughly engaging soundtrack from veteran Hamsalekha.

My Rating: 7.75/10

Pick of the Album: Allallalle Arrarrare, Devara Nadalli, Antha Cheluveyena

Music Review (Kannada) : Vaastu Prakaara

Music Review (Kannada) : Vaastu Prakaara
Music Composer: V Harikrishna

Besara Kaatara is typical Harikrishna's romantic song in the vocals of his usual associate Sonu Nigam and he aces as usual in singing despite templatized orchestration which Hari uses many times in his previous songs. Kabaddi Kabaddi is short punchy song fends without leaving much impact. In Menage Naaku moole rides mainly on the alluring interludes and spirited singing of an enchanting tune by Tippu. Vaastu Prakaara seems to be an election song dominated by reciting funny lyrics interspersed with languishing song portions by rendered by V Harikrishna. Simply met her has an appealing European flavour in arrangements using guitar, accordion bits and drums but Harikrishna's laid back rendition which is not half interesting as orchestration makes this mediocre song. Bidalle, melancholy song rides high on Vijay Prakash's immaculate singing  and HariKrishna kept the orchestration minimal with engaging veena portion in the second half.

Verdict: V Harikrishna's albums nowadays is templatized like Harris Jayaraj in Tamil although still his melodies are listenable.

My rating:7/10

Pick of the Album: Besara Kaatara, Bidalle, Simply met her
